Artist Spotlight: AC$ENT – The New Face of Afrotrap from Port HarcourtThe update
Emerging from the gritty yet culturally rich streets of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, AC$ENT is not just another voice in the growing world of Afro-influenced hip-hop — he’s a movement in the making.
Blending Afrotrap, grime, and raw street energy, AC$ENT is carving out a distinct sound that captures the reality of his environment while pushing the boundaries of Nigeria’s underground music scene.
ROOTED IN THE STREETS
With his roots deeply embedded in the heartbeat of Port Harcourt, AC$ENT’s music is a reflection of lived experience. His verses are steeped in the slang, hustle, and chaos of his environment — delivered in a mix of English, pidgin, and native tongue that feels both intimate and universal. His ability to infuse street storytelling with infectious rhythm is turning heads and building a cult-like fanbase that resonates with his authenticity.
SONIC IDENTITY: GRIME MEETS NAIJA TRAP
What sets AC$ENT apart is his genre-fluid approach. His soundscape is a dynamic collision of Afrotrap, grime, Afrostatic, and fusion, with hard-hitting beats and emotionally charged delivery. Inspired by icons like Skepta, Lancey Foux, and Wizkid, he’s unafraid to experiment — creating music that’s honest, instinctive, and unfiltered. His artistry thrives on freestyle creation, allowing emotions to guide the flow rather than formula.
NEW RELEASE: WEREY – CHAOS IN VERSE
His latest single, WEREY, is a street anthem wrapped in rhythm and realism. A vivid portrayal of life’s madness and the characters that come with it, WEREY is both a warning and a mantra — urging listeners to stay sharp and dodge negative energy. The record is built on hypnotic beats and raw vocal performance, capturing the essence of his fast-paced city life and the unpredictability it brings.
