In the heart of Lagos, Nigeria, a new wave of alternative music is emerging. Vwore—formerly known as Propaganda Grey—is at the forefront of this movement. This talented artist is based in Lekki. Yet, they hail from Delta State. They have built a reputation for being one of Nigeria’s most promising MCs. They are also recognized as creative minds.

From Propaganda Grey to Vwore
The rebrand from Propaganda Grey to Vwore marks a significant chapter in his artistic journey. Embracing his Delta heritage, “Vwore” (pronounced WAR-EH) is derived from his native name, Oghenevwore. This transition reflects his shift toward a more personal artistic identity. It allows him to connect even deeper with his audience.
The Early Days
Vwore’s story began at the age of 12 when he started rapping, inspired by the limitless possibilities of hip-hop. His natural talent quickly propelled him to the forefront. This led to his impressive performance as a contestant in the prestigious Hennessy VS Class. Vwore was selected as one of 32 rappers from over a thousand applicants. He proved why he’s considered one of the top emerging voices in Nigerian rap.
Making His Mark with “Beta”
In the underground scene, Vwore made waves with his Afro-rap record, “Beta,” produced by his best friend and collaborator, Sleke. The track’s blend of introspective lyricism captured the attention of alternative music enthusiasts. Its hard-hitting beats also helped solidify his place as a rising star in the Nigerian music landscape.
