Bennixx Unveils Captivating New Single ‘COLD’The update
Nigerian-born singer, rapper, songwriter, and producer Bennixx, also known as Soundfyar, is back with a soul-stirring new single titled Cold. This track marks his first official release of the year. It serves as a preview of his highly anticipated SF2 EP, set to drop later this year.
A Rising Star with a Distinct Sound
Zenke Benjamin, professionally known as Bennixx, hails from Benue State. He spent his formative years in Ibadan. Later, he returned to further his education at BSU. Now based in Abuja, Bennixx has continued to refine his musical artistry. Music has been an integral part of his life since childhood, heavily influenced by his family’s passion for the art. Bennixx was actively involved in his school band. He began composing songs at the young age of 15. This experience has nurtured his craft into a unique fusion of sounds.
His previous works include Shan Pepe, BadBouy, Adura, and Bags on Bags featuring Maleeqsouls. These have earned him recognition in the industry. His debut project, Soundfyar EP, garnered thousands of streams across digital platforms. This solidified his place as a force to watch in the music scene.
The Creative Vision Behind ‘Cold’
According to Bennixx, Cold is a deeply introspective piece that explores the contrast between love and the realities of life. “When I was creating Cold, I wanted to bring together two worlds—love and the realness of life. The idea was to blend the warmth of love with moments of emotional distance. These moments show how relationships can sometimes make you feel slowed down. It feels almost frozen, in a good way,” he shares.
The track’s chorus encapsulates this sentiment. It expresses a love that is both intense and chilling. This paradox resonates deeply with listeners. Bennixx started the creative process with the melody, aiming for a sound that feels relaxed yet emotionally powerful. “I wanted the production to complement that. It should have layers of warmth and coolness. This applies both in the sound and the message,” he explains.
With its heartfelt lyrics and immersive production, Cold is designed to evoke a mix of emotions—love, nostalgia, and introspection. It’s a song that encourages listeners to slow down and think, all while getting lost in its mesmerizing rhythm.

Bennixx is preparing for the release of his self-produced SF2 EP. Cold offers a glimpse into the sonic direction. It also reveals the emotional depth that fans can expect. His ability to blend soulful storytelling with masterful production sets him apart in the ever-evolving Afro-fusion landscape.
