EMIWIZZY CELEBRATES LIFE, PROGRESS AND THE JOURNEY ON NEW SINGLE “HAPPY DAY” FEATURING DAVID ACEKEYZThe update
Nigerian Afro-pop artist Emiwizzy officially enters a new chapter today with the release of his latest single, “Happy Day,” featuring Nigerian producer and artist David Acekeyz.
Available now across major streaming platforms, “Happy Day” arrives as a vibrant celebration of life, progress and the moments that make the journey meaningful. The release follows Emiwizzy’s 2026 record “OK OK OK” and introduces a lighter, more celebratory dimension to the artist’s evolving sound.
Born Chukwuemelie Agagbo and originally from Anambra State, Emiwizzy grew up in Abuja, where his relationship with music began at an early age. His musical foundation was formed in the church choir, where he played drums at the Catholic Church of the Assumption in Asokoro. That rhythmic foundation has remained evident in an artistry built around energetic records and high-impact live performances.
Emiwizzy officially began his recording career in 2017, releasing his debut single “King” before following it with the EMIWIZZY TO THE WORLD EP. Over the years, he has continued to build his catalogue through singles and collaborations, including “Control,” “Banger (Remix),” “Abj Boy” featuring Magnito, “Jaiye,” “ACTIVE,” and “OK OK OK.”
His growing profile was recognised in 2022 when he received the Artist of the Year award at Capital Prom in Abuja, marking a notable milestone in his emergence within Nigeria’s Afro-pop space.
Musically, Emiwizzy operates within a vibrant fusion of traditional African rhythm, contemporary pop and Amapiano-influenced production. His music is designed around catchy melodies, rhythmic energy and a performance-first identity — qualities that have increasingly become part of his artistic signature.
“Happy Day” extends that identity through a collaboration with David Acekeyz, creating a meeting point between Emiwizzy’s vocal and songwriting approach and Acekeyz’s production sensibilities.
The record arrives at a particularly important point in Emiwizzy’s career. With Cosco Entertainment behind his current chapter and Front Logik Distro working with him as brand consultant, the artist is positioning himself for wider collaborations, stronger visual direction and a sound capable of connecting with audiences beyond Nigeria.
His audience has also continued to develop. Emiwizzy’s latest EPK records more than 36,800 combined streams and plays across Audiomack and Spotify, with more than 620 combined followers across both platforms.
But “Happy Day” is ultimately less about statistics and more about a feeling.
It is a record built around the simple idea of recognising the good moments — celebrating progress while remaining conscious of the road that made those moments possible.
For an artist whose stated ambition is to achieve global recognition, touch lives and contribute to positive change through music, “Happy Day” represents another deliberate step toward that bigger picture.
With a growing catalogue, an increasingly defined sound and a renewed focus on global reach, Emiwizzy is using “Happy Day” to remind listeners that sometimes the journey itself is worth celebrating.
“Happy Day” by Emiwizzy featuring David Acekeyz is out now on all major streaming platforms.
