Halver and Duncan Mighty Unite on Ambitious New Single “Hustler”The update
Driven by ambition, sacrifice, and an unwavering belief in his vision, the Port Harcourt-born Afrobeats artist bridges generations on a collaboration with the legendary “Port Harcourt 1st Son.”
Independent Afrobeats artist Halver announces the global release of “Hustler,” a new single featuring South-South music icon Duncan Mighty. Released on October 9, 2026 via Guap Culture / Symphonic, the record blends high-energy street-pop, highlife instrumentation, and unfiltered storytelling into an anthem for anyone determined to turn ambition into achievement.

More than a meeting of two artists from different generations, “Hustler” represents a personal milestone for Halver. Born and raised in Port Harcourt, the rising artist set his sights on collaborating with Duncan Mighty, known as the “Port Harcourt 1st Son,” whose distinctive sound has helped shape the musical identity of the region.
Determined to make the collaboration happen, Halver travelled from Lagos to Port Harcourt, committing his resources and navigating a demanding process to bring his vision to life. The journey behind the record reflects the determination that drives its message.
“As a boy from Port Harcourt City, it was very important to me to have the ‘Port Harcourt 1st Son’ on my song,” Halver reveals. “Traveling from Lagos down to Port Harcourt and pushing through everything wasn't easy, but I knew it was worth every single sacrifice. The moment Duncan Mighty’s vocals hit the track, I knew every single hurdle had paid off.”
A SOUND BUILT ON AMBITION AND EXPERIENCE
Produced by David Cloud and mixed and mastered by MixGod, with A&R coordination led by Donald Ohaji, “Hustler” combines driving percussion, guitar riffs, and energetic street-pop rhythms. Duncan Mighty’s soulful delivery brings highlife sensibilities to the record, connecting South-South musical heritage with contemporary street-pop energy.
Lyrically, Halver confronts the realities of survival, ambition, and the complicated relationships that can emerge along the journey to success. “You say make I show you how to fish / Now you don dey chop my fish” captures the frustration of betrayal and the experience of watching others benefit from one's generosity. Elsewhere, “What the fuck is a million / Me I want a billion” communicates an uncompromising appetite for greater achievement.
Together, these themes position “Hustler” as more than a celebration of financial success. The record speaks to the discipline, resilience, and personal sacrifices required to keep moving forward, even when the journey becomes uncertain.
A MESSAGE FOR EVERY HUSTLER
At its heart, “Hustler” carries a message that extends beyond geography, industry, or background: everyone deserves an opportunity to succeed, and difficult circumstances should not be mistaken for the end of the journey.
“No matter how tough the journey gets, there must be something for the hustler,” Halver shares. “Everyone deserves to win, and I hope this song serves as a reminder that your own breakthrough is coming.”
Halver’s determination to bring a long-held vision to life mirrors the perseverance celebrated throughout the song, while Duncan Mighty’s contribution connects that ambition to a broader South-South musical legacy.
