Abuja’s increasingly dynamic music ecosystem continues to attract artists with distinctive perspectives, compelling stories and creative identities that challenge conventional boundaries. Among the emerging talents steadily carving out a unique space within the capital’s creative community is JustOne Sukay, known professionally as “The Rapitect.”
A Nigerian rapper, singer and songwriter, JustOne Sukay approaches music through a multidisciplinary lens shaped by architecture, football, business, design and lived experience. Originally from Cross River State and influenced by his formative years in Calabar and experiences across different environments, Sukay has developed an artistic perspective that extends beyond the traditional boundaries of music.

His latest single, “GENIUS,” produced by Gruzzmahn, offers a compelling introduction to that perspective. Drawing from Afro and Drill influences, the record is driven by assertive lyricism and a message centred on self-belief, ambition, resilience and personal determination. Rather than allowing circumstances or external expectations to define his trajectory, Sukay uses the song to reinforce a central idea: potential must be recognised, developed and ultimately expressed. That philosophy is reflected in the identity he has created for himself as The Rapitect.
With an MSc in Architecture, Sukay views music through a similar principle of construction. Architecture demands vision, structure, precision and an understanding of how individual elements come together to form something greater. His songwriting follows a comparable approach, using words to construct ideas, emotions and narratives while giving each record its own identity and architecture.
This perspective has contributed to his emergence as an independent artist associated with what he describes as “lyrically conscious” music—work that prioritises substance, perspective and intentional storytelling alongside sound.
“GENIUS” marks another chapter in that progression. More than a standalone release, the record represents Sukay’s continued effort to establish a clearly defined artistic lane—one built around individuality rather than conformity.
His interests outside music further reinforce that multidimensional identity. His background in architecture, combined with his interests in business, construction, design and football, gives him a broad creative vocabulary through which he interprets both his career and the world around him.
As JustOne Sukay continues developing his catalogue and expanding his creative footprint within Abuja and beyond, The Rapitect is building more than a music career—he is constructing a creative blueprint of his own.
And if “GENIUS” is an indication of what lies ahead, the blueprint is only beginning to take shape.
