Lagos-bred rapper and genre-bending artist Kakes ON is back with a hard-hitting new release titled “FELELE,” a vibrant anthem that speaks to the heart of living free, wild, and unbothered. Known for his introspective storytelling and genre versatility, Kakes ON fuses Hip-Hop, Drill, and Alte elements on this track to deliver a sonic experience that’s both liberating and deeply infectious.
Following a steady stream of critically-acclaimed projects — from No Days Off (2019) to Moon Rave (2023) — Kakes ON continues to redefine his sound. With over 300K streams across all platforms and a TopNaija Music Award for Best Campus Music Artiste (2020) under his belt, the 27-year-old creative is proving once again why he’s a force in the evolving Nigerian music space.
What “FELELE” Is All About
“FELELE” is more than a track — it’s a mood, a mantra, and a movement. Translating to a carefree lifestyle, the song is built on infectious drill percussion and dark undertones, paired with raw lyricism that explores the beauty of letting go, embracing freedom, and living life on your own terms.
Kakes ON doesn’t just ride the beat — he commands it, weaving in his personal story and Lagos upbringing with sharp flows and expressive delivery. It’s a track that invites the listener to break free from societal expectations and bask in their own authenticity.
A Legacy in Motion
Since launching his career in 2018, Kakes ON has continued to evolve with every drop. His previous projects Before I Japa to the Moon and Moon Talk showcased his ability to balance vulnerability with confidence, while Moon Rave cemented his alter-ego as an unapologetic vibe-maker. “FELELE” is the continuation of that sonic exploration, one that feels bolder and more refined.
