MBBSZN Returns with Ya Diba – A Gritty Tale of Hustle and SurvivalThe update
MBBszn, the rising Nigerian rapper and songwriter, has just dropped Ya Diba—a raw, unfiltered reflection of his turbulent journey through the music industry.
Known for his introspective storytelling and deep cultural ties, MBBszn once again delivers a track that resonates with authenticity.

A Story of Struggle and Resilience
Inspired by real-life events, Ya Diba is more than just a song—it’s an emotional outpouring of setbacks, lessons, and ultimately, perseverance. In December, MBBszn embarked on a trip to Lagos, hoping to take his career to the next level. However, instead of smooth success, he faced a string of challenges: an unreliable producer, a delayed distribution deal due to a dishonest intermediary, and even an unexpected arrest. Rather than letting these obstacles break him, MBBszn transformed his pain into music.
The Sound & Lyrics
From the opening lines—“Where do I begin?”—MBBszn takes us on a journey through his struggles. He vividly recounts the frustration of industry betrayal (“Ife men ne eme men na Industry a”) while maintaining an unshaken spirit (“But I’m not in my feelings so ya diba”)—a phrase that roughly translates to “let it be” or “move on.”
His verses paint a picture of Lagos’ unforgiving nature—one moment filled with promise, the next with chaos. “My producer go mental, my producer go craze… Industry make me mental, Lagos make me craze.” Yet, through the pain, he acknowledges the lessons learned: “No Pain, No Gain. Me I don dey pay my dues, e don tey.”
