STYLING IS CHOOSING LIFE WITH “AYE LAWA” FEAT. WYZAThe update
From Ibadan to the world, Styling turns his latest release into a reminder to live, enjoy the moment and protect your peace.
There is a particular kind of Nigerian music that does not need to overcomplicate its message.

Sometimes, the message is simply to live.
For Styling, that idea arrives in the form of “Aye Lawa,” his latest single featuring Wyza. Produced by TQ Mayana, the Afrobeat record takes its title from the Yoruba expression Aye Lawa — “Life is ours” — and turns it into both a musical statement and a personal philosophy.
But beneath the rhythm and infectious energy, the record reveals something important about the artist behind it.
Styling is increasingly making music about the realities of living.
And “Aye Lawa” may be one of the clearest expressions of that direction yet.
THE FOCUS TRACK: “AYE LAWA”
“Aye Lawa” is built around a deceptively simple idea: we are here, so we should live.
The record speaks to the everyday pressures that can make people forget that.
The hustle. The expectations. The uncertainty. The disappointments. The constant pressure to become something more.
Styling answers that tension with a different kind of energy.
Enjoy what you have.
Protect your peace.
Appreciate the people around you.
Make memories.
Do not allow the weight of life to completely take away the experience of living it.
Featuring Wyza, the song carries a collaborative energy that complements its central message. Rather than treating enjoyment as an escape from reality, “Aye Lawa” presents enjoyment as part of the reality itself — a necessary reminder that life is happening in the present.
That makes the record more than a party song.
It becomes a life soundtrack.
STYLING: A LIFE LIVED BEFORE THE MUSIC
The philosophy behind “Aye Lawa” becomes even more interesting when placed against Styling’s own journey.
Born Oyadeji Segun John and raised in Ibadan, with roots in Ada, Osun State, Styling did not arrive at music through a straight line.
Before committing fully to his artistic career, he experienced several different worlds — working as a teacher, poultry farmer, fashion designer and entrepreneur, including running a salon. He also studied Accounting at Osun State University, Osogbo.

Those experiences exposed him to different sides of everyday life and helped shape the perspective he brings into his music.
Music, however, remained.
In October 2023, Styling formally stepped into the spotlight with VIBES OF LIFE, a project that explored love, loss and self-discovery. The project introduced listeners to an artist interested in documenting more than just the moment; he was beginning to build a body of work around the experiences that shape people.
FROM “VIBES OF LIFE” TO “AYE LAWA”
Styling’s catalog shows a gradual expansion of that perspective.
Following VIBES OF LIFE, he released “African Girls,” celebrating African women, before collaborating with Fally Y on “Sweet Criminal.” He continued with “Time2Shine” and “Hallelujah,” bringing themes of ambition, celebration and faith further into his musical identity.
His more recent releases have continued that movement, with songs including “SHAYLA,” “SARE,” “Turn Up,” and “Erinma.”
That progression matters.
Styling is not presenting himself as an artist with only one story to tell. His growing catalog reflects an artist still discovering the different dimensions of his voice — romance, ambition, celebration, faith, identity and the everyday realities of being Nigerian.
“Aye Lawa” fits naturally into that evolution.
THE IBADAN CONNECTION
There is also something significant about where Styling’s story comes from.
Ibadan has long been an important cultural and creative centre in southwestern Nigeria, producing artists and storytellers whose work carries a strong connection to language, community and everyday life.
Styling’s own story is deeply connected to the city, even as his family roots trace back to Ada in Osun State.
His emergence therefore feels less like a sudden arrival and more like another chapter in the continuing musical conversation coming out of southwestern Nigeria.
His ambition, however, is not limited to the region.
The recurring idea in Styling’s story is movement: from where he started toward where he believes he can go.
From Ibadan to the world.
That ambition is reflected in the music itself — rooted enough to retain its local identity while remaining accessible to listeners beyond Nigeria.
WHY “AYE LAWA” MATTERS
The strongest part of “Aye Lawa” may ultimately be its simplicity.
There is no complicated philosophy required to understand the record.
Life is temporary.
So enjoy it.
Not recklessly. Not without responsibility.
But consciously.
Protect your peace.
Love your people.
Celebrate your small wins.
Dance when you feel like dancing.
And remember that sometimes surviving the pressure of everyday life also means giving yourself permission to enjoy being alive.
That philosophy connects “Aye Lawa” to the wider identity Styling has been building since VIBES OF LIFE: music that people can feel, relate to, dance to and remember.
It is also consistent with the broader vision he has expressed for himself beyond music — wanting to become an author and inspirational figure whose story can encourage people to pursue their ambitions regardless of where they begin.
STYLING IS STILL BUILDING
There is no need to pretend that Styling has already reached the destination.
He is still building.
And that is precisely what makes his journey worth watching.
From an accounting graduate and entrepreneur to an artist developing his sound; from VIBES OF LIFE to a growing run of singles; from Ibadan to a much larger global ambition, Styling is gradually turning his experiences into a musical identity.
“Aye Lawa” captures that identity at an interesting point.
It is celebratory without pretending life is perfect.
It is optimistic without ignoring reality.
And it carries a message that feels particularly relevant in a culture where everyone is constantly chasing the next milestone:
You are alive now.
That counts too.
For Styling, “Aye Lawa” is therefore more than a song about enjoyment.
It is a reminder.
Life is ours.
Live it.
Enjoy it.
Protect your peace.
And, above all, remember:
all na vanity.
