TALK TO US SPECIAL: DAWIEThe update

Today, we celebrate the remarkable growth and achievements of the esteemed beat king, Dawie. It is a pleasure to have you with us. Congratulations on your recent successes.
• Could you please introduce yourself to our audience by sharing your full name?
Okay, my names are Noiki David, popularly known as Dawie (Dawieonthis1).
• How long have you been working as a music producer?
For a very long time.
• Your catalog is truly a collection of exceptional sounds. How have you managed to establish connections with these artists?
Honestly, I just go with what I feel, to be honest. I let the music speak to me, and I also try to be the best version of myself I can be, honestly.
• Many producers face challenges in getting their beats to well-known artists, and some even encounter issues of exploitation. Do you have any advice for them?
Honestly, I think it’s just for you to be informed but also know how to apply the information you have.Creatives just need to know that this thing is a career/profession, and in order to have longevity, you need to create sustainability. Money is an important factor in it.
So, in creating those career opportunities, also try to secure the bag. That doesn’t mean you should overprice yourself out of the market, but know your worth—that’s the important thing.
• Let’s talk about your 2024 catalog. You’ve been consistently making waves with collaborations with artists like Damo, Zyno, and Hyce. Did you envision reaching this level of success this year?
Honestly, 2024 has been a surprising year. In a good way, but all I can say is that everything is happening in God’s time. I have just been grinding and leaving the rest to God—He’s the one that determines all.
• People often say you can feel it when you create a hit. Can you describe that sensation?|
Honestly, that can be true but also dicey because it boils down to what you define a hit as. I personally think a hit is more than numbers—it’s more in the music and what it does to you, the listener.
• Have there been moments in your career when you felt frustrated and considered quitting?
Frustration? Yes… a lot of times. But the thing is, whenever it happens, I just smile, and I remember why I started and the things that fuel my inspiration. Honestly, I go back to my God—that’s the best place to draw strength from, and He never disappoints, yunno.
• Finally, how can an artist collaborate with you, Dawie?
I’m very open to collaborating. Just shoot me a DM. Trust me, if you wanna really get me gingered, just drop me the right melody—I’m gone!
