TALK TO US SPECIAL: EASTSIDEALIENThe update
MAN OF THE HOUR, nice to have you on today’s episode of TALK WITH US. EASTSIDEALIEN, let’s get to know you officially. What’s your real name?
My real name is Udegbunam Richmond Chiemezie.
• The name EASTSIDEALIEN is unique, and your intro tag “Tryna get it done” is even more unique. What does it mean exactly? What inspired that phrase?
It’s like a mantra for me—a motivational statement. It’s about staying focused and achieving greatness no matter what. The world needs to see what we’re made of.
• Your rap lines always come with a strong message. Can you tell us about your creative process?
Honestly, it’s all about reflecting on my life, my experiences, and the things I’ve been through. Having good energy around me helps too—it keeps me grounded and fuels my grind.
• Let’s dive into your project, AREA 51. How did the name come about?
AREA 51, as we all know, is linked to UFOs and alien mysteries. I felt it aligned perfectly with my stage name, EASTSIDEALIEN. It’s like my sound is an invasion—something fresh and different in the industry.
• How has the public received this project so far?
The love has been real. People are vibing with it, but you know how it is—the grind never stops. I’m expecting bigger things to come from this, God willing.
• We noticed there aren’t any features on this project, unlike your previous work. Was that intentional?
Yes, it was intentional. I actually planned to feature my brother on one track, but since this project was a reintroduction of EASTSIDEALIEN as a brand, I had to keep it solo. That doesn’t mean my VTB family wasn’t with me throughout—they always got my back.
• What are some of the goals you hope to achieve with this project?
Breakout season! This project is designed to capture hearts across the nation and beyond. With God on my side, we’re making it happen.
• If AREA 51 turns out to be your breakthrough project, what’s your next move?
The next step is to go even bigger—taking on larger stages and collaborations. The feature with JeriQ was just the beginning. Soon, we’ll be vibing with the big boys in the game. My fans are my backbone, so keep streaming and spreading the word. We rise together—one for all, all for one.
